This project can be done by beginners, thanks to numerous video tutorials and step-by-step guidance. The only difficulty might be the recommended yarn, as it’s quite fuzzy, so working with it requires some practice. If you’ve never worked with it before, try practicing with it on smaller projects/swatches before starting this project.
Materials:
Recommended yarn:
- DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk (25g / 140m) – total weight required 225g, double strand
Accessories:
- 8 mm needles – cable min. 30 cm (main body)
- 6 or 7 mm needles – cable min. 30 cm (ribbing)Interchangeable needles work best for this project. This way, after completing the ribbing with smaller needles, you only need to switch to larger needles for the stockinette stitch.
- Stitch markers (or pieces of string for marking)
- Scissors
- Bent/tapestry needle, waxed thread for attaching the label (optional)
Notes:
Remember that the item you make based on the pattern may differ slightly from the one in the photo. This is proof that it was handmade and no two are exactly alike in the world. You can also modify the pattern – the final effect is up to you!
